The mission of the Cedar Falls Historical Society is “to preserve for research and educational purposes, artifacts and information about the life and times of the people of Cedar Falls, Black Hawk County, Iowa, from its pioneer origins to present day times.”
The collection of the Cedar Falls Historical Society has been built through generous donations and encompasses a wide variety of objects which are representative of the history of the community and help to tell the story of the families, individuals, businesses, clubs, organizations, and schools of Cedar Falls.
Objects donated to the collection may be exhibited, used by students and scholars for research, or made available for education purposes in hands-on activities.
Donations to the collection should be related to the mission of the Cedar Falls Historical Society and in good condition. Not all donations can be accepted, nor can donations be accepted with conditions or on “permanent loan”. The Society cannot place a value on objects donated to the collection. Those interested in obtaining a valuation for their donation should visit the webpage of the American Society of Appraisers or the Society of American Archivists. Donors whose objects are accepted will receive a deed of gift.
