Throughout 2014, the Historical Society will be offering a series of programs related to this special exhibition:
Faunal Remains:
What Animal Evidence Tells Us About the Oneota

Presented by Brennan Dolan, Archaeologist, Iowa Department of Transportation

Join us for a fascinating look at what we can learn from animal remains uncovered at Oneota archaeological sites across northern Iowa. Brennan Dolan will share the findings from several proto-historic period sites. He'll offer comparisons of different sites, discuss fur trade interactions with Euro-Americans, and describe changes over time.

Brennan Dolan is an archaeologist at the Iowa DOT. He has also worked for the State Preservation Office, the Louis Berger Group, and the National park Service. He holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of Iowa and an MA in Archaeology from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
