George Wyth House

Wander through the rooms of this stunning 1907 Arts & Crafts home and imagine the life of Cedar Falls’ prominent Wyth Family in the 1920s and 1930s.  Meticulously restored and furnished in the art-deco style, this gem captures a distinctive moment in American history.

You can almost hear the children’s squeals and the adults’ conversations about prohibition, woman’s suffrage, the Great Depression, and the World Wars—all set to the sounds of the Golden Age of Radio.

Dorothy G. Wyth bequested the Wyth House to the Cedar Falls Historical Society in 1979 in memory of her parents, George and Alice Wyth.  She generously established the Wyth House Trust for the restoration, furnishing, landscaping, and maintenance of the home.

Tours available by appointment.
