Victorian Home

Have you ever seen a wreath made of human hair or eyed a fine porcelain mustache cup?  Do you know how to communicate with the flutter of a fan or how to button your shoes with a sterling silver hook?

Cinch up your corsets, grab your calling card, and step back over 100 years to the Victorian era.

This Italianate style home was built by Azel D. Barnum in 1863, and it’s teeming with furnishings, photographs, and everyday objects from the 1880s-1900s.  Its stately cupola has watched over the Cedar River and the growing city of Cedar Falls for generations, and it remains a prominent landmark today.
